Power Hour (Adult Forum)
Sundays, 9:30am in the Parish Hall
There have been many days throughout history that have altered time. Join us for this three week series of “Knowing Our Roots” as we journey through time and explore days that changed the world.
Sept 10: For Us
Journey through a “museum” of images representing pivotal moments in recent memory when the world changed, share the stories that surround the images, and explore how these moments in history influence the narrative of our faith.
Sept 17: For the Israelites
Rabbi Zoberman joins us to talk about the day that changed the lives of the Israelites forever: the Exodus. Hear the story of that day and the days and years that followed.
Sept 24: For “Christianity”
Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. What does it mean to proclaim Christ crucified? Why did it have to happen? What does the resurrection mean for us? Fr. Bob leads us through a discussion about the days that changed the course of faith and religion.
The Old Testament Scriptures
Sundays, 9:30am in the Library
Jump into the historical context and literary import of the first books of the bible, a foundational document of Western thought and Christian and Jewish faith. Videos presented by Professor Amy-Jill Levine from Vanderbilt University. Discussion facilitated by Mary Poteet and Marti Jones in the library on Sunday mornings 9:30-10:15.
Sundays, 9:30am in Father Bob’s Office
Remember the days of the Under The Hill group? Looking to apply what’s going on in the world today to your faith? Check out this new discussion group using The Wired Word curriculum, designed to create community and stimulate conversation around current news headlines and how they apply to scripture and faith. Facilitated by Debbie Quam, Kelli Hoover, and Matt Jackson.
