Gretchen Hood
Gretchen HoodParish Administrator
Our Parish Administrator is often the first person with whom you will speak if you are trying to catch up with one of the staff, or if you want to get something done. She leads the administrative team at Old Donation, is the primary person for communications, and generally keeps us all on the same page.

Gretchen has lived all over the world, moving with her husband, Jeff, a career officer in the Air Force, and their two sons, Blair and Peter. They most recently lived in Israel and Rome, two very interesting places for folks associated with Christianity. Gretchen’s family includes an Episcopal priest and she has been very active in church life, including jumping in with both feet since arriving at Old Donation. We are thankful to have her on our team.

Diane Miller is our Parish Accountant, a position she has held since 1999. She handles the day to day finances for the church, and oversees the accounting for the Day School. Her position allows for close work with JoAnn Bach, Pledge Recorder, and Ned Kuhns, our Treasurer, as well as the rest of the staff and parishioners. Diane brings an extensive career in accounting to her ministry as parish accountant at Old Donation Church, as well as a love for all of the many facets of God’s work in us and our work with God at Old Donation. She has been very active in our parish’s health and prayer ministries, particularly with Stephen Ministry. Diane, husband Brian, and son Dillon moved to Virginia Beach from Fort Worth, Texas.

Marta and her husband, Drew, moved here with the Navy in 2016 and have been attending the 10:30 service in the Church. She has had a lot of experience with parish and camp youth ministry and mission trips – both local and international.

Marta is from Washington State, and Drew is from Oregon. Marta graduated from North Park University with her Bachelor’s degree in 2013. Marta reports that they both love hiking, camping, reading, drinking coffee, making delicious food, and playing with their dog, Zoe! They feel so blessed to be part of this church family. And we are blessed to have them!

Paul Hudgins
Paul HudginsOrganist and Choirmaster
Paul Hudgins has been Organist/Choirmaster for Old Donation since September 1999. Music ministry is a second career for Paul, where he has been employed for 24 years with Sentara Healthcare and is Director of Patient Financial Services. Paul’s passion at Old Donation is liturgy planning and he recognizes himself as a traditionalist and Anglo-Catholic at heart, with a slight “curve” in the direction of some (quote, some) contemporary music. Paul previously contemplated life in a monastic religious order and attended multiple retreats at both St. Anselm’s Benedictine Abbey near Washington DC, and Holy Cross Trappist Monastery in Berryville, VA (Cistercian order of the Strict Observance).

Bruce is the smiling face behind the heavy lifting, endless cleaning and challenging maintenance around Old Donation Church. Day School kids revere him, squirrels fear him, and everyone thanks him for our well-kept facilities. Next time you find the soap and hand towels stocked, think of Bruce and say a word of thanks.
