We baptized two more children into God's family of the Church on Sunday. And said goodbye to two of our favorite young adults as AJ and Elizabeth Lambert have now departed for new adventures. At coffee hour, we presented AJ with a couple gifts and our very best wishes.

We also said THANK YOU to all those who were teaching in our various Sunday School and Wednesday Formation programs. The Formation commission had a wonderful program of giving thanks and then fabulous foods for all to thank teachers, mentors, and the people who have done such good work to plan and organize our wonderful year of formation. Special thanks are due to Sue Stephenson and her commission members who organized Sunday's celebration.

Thursday night (May 25) is the Feast of the Ascension - remembering Jesus ascending to heaven 40 days after the Resurrection and 10 days before Pentecost (the coming of the Holy Spirit - see Luke and the Book of Acts). At 7:00pm, we will have the beautiful service of Choral Evensong with me preaching, led by our beautiful St. Cecilia Choir. (For those who have called asking, there will not be incense this year, so come join us. We will plan a "High Mass" with smells and bells for August 6 when it is the Feast of the Transfiguration on that first Sunday. That way, those who have difficulties with incense in our low ceiling building will have Sunday morning options.)

Sunday, May 28) I will be in the Gathering preaching the second of our three week series on the Holy Spirit. Ashley+ will be in the Church (and Fr. Fred is subbing at St. Aidan's for our friends on sabbatical in Israel). Sunday School and regular Sunday night EYC are over until September.

Please remember also that coming up is Memorial Day Weekend, so we will have special prayers for those who have given all in service of our nation. We will include the national flag up front with a national song for one of the hymns and special prayers. We hold off on wearing uniforms to church for Veteran's Day observance because this day is dedicated to remembering those faithful who have died in the service of our nation.

See you Sunday!

Needed! Foreign Language Speakers
Can you read a foreign language aloud? If so, make yourself known! On the Day of Pentecost (4 June) we read the Gospel at the 10:30am services simultaneously in many different languages. Please email Gretchen with your language preference to receive a copy of the Gospel by email.

Graduates!
Is there a graduate in your household? If so, please let Gretchen know now so the name can be included in the June Bell Ringer!
