Happy Thanksgiving!  We have so many things to give thanks for this year.  Last weekend’s Oyster Roast was such a blessing. We don’t yet have final numbers, but it appears our gross sales were significantly higher than last year. Thanks goes to every area and all of you who donated, or baked, or showed up, and worked, and bought, but especially to our leaders, Tony Putzig and Betts Werbiskis.

Tomorrow we will have our traditional Thanksgiving Day Eucharist at 10:00AM. I will be preaching on what is one of my favorite feast days. Join us for the BEST WAY to start a day of THANKSGIVING, by thanking the source from whom all good things come. Turkey always tastes better when it follows a morning of giving thanks to God.

Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend is always a good day at ODEC. Between 9:15 and 10:15, and again after the services until noon, there will be materials and instructions in the Parish Library for making Advent wreaths for your home. Everything you need is there, but if you want some extra decorations or red berries, bring them in. It’s always a joy to see our children and adults producing creative wreaths, which will become centerpieces for their dinner table and daily devotions. There are NO Sunday School classes, nor EYC this coming weekend.

Ashley will be preaching in the Church, and Fred in the Gathering. Chris and I are taking off for a week of R&R in Scottsdale, AZ to gather strength and inspiration for Advent and Christmas seasons.

I pray that each of you will find your lives blessed as you reflect on the ways God’s light has been shining on you this past year.

Happy Thanksgiving!
