Hello Old Donation!

It’s so good to be back in the office after a lovely stay-cation. I hear things have been busy around here! So many of you have been back for our Wednesday night program, Christian Formation on Sunday mornings, and are filling the seats in church services. I love the bustle and life that Fall brings to our parish.

Tonight, you don’t want to miss part two of Fr. Bob’s teaching on Faith in the Public Square. Come continue  the discussion, as we examine where the church’s voice is important in the issues of the day. In a world of contention and division, it’s more important than ever to gain some clarity on what our theology helps us think through moral dilemmas, and how we can witness to and learn from others. Boo Burroughs will provide a delicious meal tonight as well, so you have many reasons to come to church. 6:00 Holy Eucharist, 6:30 supper, and 7:00 program. Babysitting is available!

Tomorrow afternoon, Nottalotta Acres will be back selling delicious produce from 4-7pm. This has been a huge success, and you definitely want to get there as early as you can so you don’t miss out on the best selection!

On Sunday, Fr. Bob will be in the Gathering, and I’ll be preaching at 8:00, 9:15, and 10:30 services. Fr. Bob will also be teaching in Power Hour at 9:30 on The Day The World Changed… For Christianity – a look at Christ crucified and resurrected, and the impact it had, and continues to have, on faith. There is also an additional opportunity to worship at the Mission of the Holy Spirit service at 2:30pm, located at St. Stephen’s in Norfolk.

No shortage of activities going on here! I’m looking forward to seeing all of you!

In Christ,

Hurricane Relief

In recent days, we have watched and witnessed the devastation in the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Our brothers and sisters need our help. Episcopal Relief & Development reminds us not to send food, clothing or other items because affected dioceses have limited or no capacity to receive, store or distribute goods. It is more efficient and better for the local economy to make a donation. Episcopal Relief & Development already has actions in place for assistance.  You may also give through Old Donation’s Online Giving. Please highlight Episcopal Relief and Development for the fund designation.

Get ready to Watch our Bellringers play Softball!
